Rose Nyirakamana, age 64, passed away on August 29, 2024 in Pittsburgh, PA after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Her life was marked by resilience, love, and an unwavering commitment to those around her.

Rose was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Etienne Bagirimvano. She is survived by her 10 children, 7 children-in-law, and 18 cherished grandchildren. Her family was her pride and joy, and she took immense pleasure in being a devoted mother and grandmother.

A dedicated nurse, Rose’s passion for helping others extended far beyond her profession. She was known for her kindness, compassion, and the care she provided to everyone in her life. Her grandchildren remember her fondly for greeting them with a youthful saying, "zikoke mwana," a phrase that brought smiles and warmth. Her children recall the poster she hung in the kitchen with a gentle reminder that read, "Your mother does not work here, clean after yourself."

The celebration of Rose's life will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024 at West Wilmington Seventh-day Adventist Church @ 3003 Millcreek Rd, Wilmington, DE 19808. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love, strength, and dedication will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.

Weep Not For Me

Weep not for me though I have gone
Into that gentle night
Grieve if you will, but not for long
Upon my soul’s sweet flight

I am at peace, my soul’s at rest
There is no need for tears
For with your love I was so blessed
For all those many years

There is no pain, I suffer not
The fear is now all gone
Put now these things out of your thoughts
In your memory, I live on

Remember not my fight for breath
Remember not the strife
Please do not dwell upon my death
But celebrate my life
